Random Thoughts and Some Interesting Articles

Liberals are always touting how they want to see women succeed and are all for them having equal rights, but it's only for liberal women. Remember how they went after katherine Harris in Florida that time during the Bush/Gore recount fiasco. They made fun of her on Saturday Night Live. Look how they went after Sarah Palin making fun of her clothes, making fun of her kids and they way she talked. Tina Fey mocked her on Satnight Live and the media made her look like a complete dunce even though she was rated as the No. 1 governor in the U.S. by the National Governor's Association.. Michelle Malkin is another terrific conservative writer and a beautiful woman, but she has been forced to move twice from her homes because of death threats by liberal opponents.
The other night I was in my local Border's bookstore and I noticed a book mocking Sarah Palin's book called "Going Roughe- An American Nightmare." It was designed to look like her book with her same pic on the cover only instead of a bright background like on her book they had a dark night time background. It said the authors were two writers from "The Nation." It figures. That's a lib publication ,but who would know. So when you get right down to it, liberals are the biggest, sexist people around. They cover up their misogeney by pretending to be all for strong women when actually it is they who are are the true sexists.

Below are some interestng articles from the Grreat American Journal. The red comments are mine. :)

Despite President Obama's long history of criticizing the Bush administration for "sweetheart deals" with favored contractors, the Obama administration this month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids, Fox News has learned.
The contract, awarded on Jan. 4 to Checchi & Company Consulting, Inc., a Washington-based firm owned by economist and Democratic donor Vincent V. Checchi, will pay the firm $24,673,427 to provide "rule of law stabilization services" in war-torn Afghanistan.
. (And they criticized Bush for Haliburton event hough Clinton used Haliburton also)

State of Disunion (Or is it the State of Illusion?)By Mark AlexanderOn Wednesday, 27 January, Barack Hussein Obama1 will deliver his first "State of the Union" speech as president, a self evaluation of his first year's achievements. Sprinkled between his infamous "let me be clear" or "make no mistake" introduction to his prevarications, he will, characteristically, attempt to spin a plethora of failures into something good using these phony fallback phrases: back from the brink; signs of recovery; restored our reputation; achieved some successes; more work yet to do; fiscal restraint; greed on Wall Street; affordable health care; relief for working families; job creation and, of course, investing in America, a euphemism for taxing and spending. (People are waking up to the fact they made a mistake voting for this fake ,fraud and phoney. Let's hope they don't fall back under his spell.)

Obama Uses Teleprompter for 1st Grade Audience Just two pictures and comments here that tell a story of alarming incompetence - when a president of the United States has to use a teleprompter to speak to 1st grade school students. This is not complicated. This is not rocket science being talked about here. This is a mindless empty suit who needs someone else to put words into his mouth simply to talk to 5 year olds. Unbelievable!!! ( I think he sleeps with his teleprompter.:D) Now the media is saying it was in a different room to reorters he used the tele-rompter. That's still shows incompetance if you ask me. Some detractors alleged he needed a teleprompter to talk to kids, but that's not what the photos really show. Why bloggers got the story wrong I still think he sleeps with the teleprompter :D

J.D. Hayworth will be running for John McCain's Senate seat, while Sarah Palin will be destroying her popularity with conservatives by stumping for McCain. Big mistake on Palin's part that will cost her a lot of conservative support. If Palin were a true conservative she would support Hayworth, and not engage in political payback to McCain. That is enough to disqualify her from my Conservative Candidate list should she choose to run for office.
I understand Palin feeling the need to pay back McCain for what he did for her political career (although it was really his advisors, including radio talk hosts, that did it). It has to be a tough decision to make. But by choosing to campaign for him, she is essentially destroying any advances she may have gained as his running mate. She is putting politics ahead of principle and I cannot condone that. That is precisely what is wrong in Congress today. If she goes through with it, I, for one, will never be able to trust her again and will not support her for anything. The last thing we need is John McCain for another 6 years when we could have J.D. Hayworth instead.
(I agree with the author here and like him I can understand her position too. It is a tough decision.)

Tragedy in Haiti

The tragedy in Haiti is very sad indeed, but the haters of America and other groups are all complaining about the lack of aid coming in especially from the U.S. and Haitian gangs are piling corpses up in roadblocks protesting the lack of aid. Well EXCUUUUSE US for being the first ones to respond. EXCUUUSE US for sending more than any other country in only three days. You can't just snap your fingers and have miracles appear like these complainers seem to expect. Sending aid takes looking at logistics and see where you can send food and water in. We're working as fast as we can.

During the Sunami in Indonesia we donated more than any other country and still people complained we didn't do enough. We feed the world and still they complain. In this situation they couldn't fly in because the airport was so badly damaged that there was only one runway and the air traffic controllers tower was out as was the power so that was out. You can't parachute food in when there is chaos on the ground. One country tried that and they dropped boxes in a park where hundreds of homeless people are now and the crowd scatterd when the boxes landed. You can't do that!!!!! People are panicing in the streets and in their panic chaos and murder and greed all set in. Gangs are forming and burning pyres of tires and corpses too. Now there are questions about people donating which naturally follows in these situations. Rapper Wyclef Jean wants to donate millions, but there are a lot of questions about his shady backers and financiers. George Clooney is having a public TV telethon to raise donations, but as is always in these situations, people mean well, but you can't be sure where these doantions always go. I agree with these two comments from a narticle I recently read:

Poverty and lack of education aside, if they’re blocking the roads, how can help get through to everyone in need? Leave it to the greedy few in front… they’re deterring aid to all in need.

With all the billions of dollars we throw at the UN why does America have to spend more money that we don’t have to bail out Haiti? Let the UN lead the charge instead. That’s what they are supposedly there for

Here is an article from World Net Daily on the current situation with U.S. aid and the U.N. aid and the current situation on why it is so diffulcult getting aid there.:

Stewart Stogel© 2010 WorldNetDaily
UNITED NATIONS – Informed U.S. State Department sources tell WND that Washington has taken de-facto control of earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
"USAID has now taken control [of Haiti]," said one source. "We [the U.S.] are the only ones who can get things done."
Vice President Joe Biden told reporters at Homestead Air Force Base, Fla., where
relief efforts are underway, that Haiti is a nation "that has totally collapsed."
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was the first White House cabinet member to arrive on the scene. She made a brief tour of the Port au Prince region on Saturday.
U.N. relief efforts, however, have been criticized as "disorganized" and "haphazard" by U.S. sources.
The U.N.'s Haiti operations center was destroyed in last week's quake. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's special representative, Hedi Annabi, who remained "missing" more than four days later, was found dead Saturday. Annabi was believed to be in the complex at the time of the quake.
In a statement released Saturday evening, Ban called Annabi the "gold standard" of international civil servants.
UNICEF, which operated separately from the U.N. system, saw its headquarters survive, but was also severely impacted because many of its personnel were in the field at the time of the quake. A substantial number of those still remain unaccounted for.

U.S. sources confirm to WND that Haitian relief efforts could easily surpass $1 billion in the next few months, much of that aid being financed by Washington.
The U.N. has already announced a $550 million international emergency fundraising drive.
Not only could the rescue and rebuilding efforts reach billions of dollars, but they could also take years to accomplish.
U.S. sources point out that even today, more than four years later, New Orleans is still rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina.
Meanwhile, U.N. sources admit that part of the problem that now exists in Haiti squarely falls on the United Nations and the international community.
Virtually nothing of substance has been done to build a credible
infrastructure
in Haiti since the military government of Gen. Raul Cedras was overthrown by the Clinton administration military invasion in 1994.

In Memory of a Tree

The other day on AOl's cover page I saw a story about this 210 year old dutch elm tree that is about to be cut down and the 101 year old gent who has cared for it all these years. He looked in pretty good shape and explained that he cared for the tree for over 50 years and it had dutch elm blight 14 times and he saved it each time, but now he doesn't know of anyone who will care for it as his time is near too he said. The article didn't mention why no one else could care for it, but I bet it drew lots of takers.
The story reminded me of a song narrative I have by folk artist Tom Pacheco called The Tree Song which I want to share with you below. Pacheco said the tree told him the story and he just wrote it down. It's a poem he recites while a violin plays in the background and is very touching and beautiful. One of my favorites since I always love a big sprawling beautiful tree.

The Tree Song
by Tom Pacheco

Well good morning folks, come gather round this oak tree you have climbed,
I guess you 've all lost kites in my branches at one time,
I've seen a million sunsets and grown a trillion leaves
and every winter that ol' north wind comes and blows them right off me,
A million cats have climbed me, below me children play,
I won't tell you what the dogs do, but that's just nature's way.

People come and meet here when the midnight moon is high,
Some laugh and love all night, some just sit here and cry.
And once there was a murder, I was the only witness there,
And the wrong man went to prison, the killer was the mayor.
I could talk to you forever with the stories that I know,
Why just fifty feet below me there's a chest of pirate gold.
But now I see bulldozers and soon I'm gonna fall,
they're gonna pave this whole field for a brand new shopping mall.
I hope they use some of me for a fence or for a door,
ahh but you know they don't seem mto make things out of wood much anymore.
Anyway I'm happy because in the woods across the way,
there's a brand new oak tree growing from one of my own acorn seeds.

Hoorayy. Prez Finally Gets It or Does He?

Today's NY Post had a picture of Obama on it with white dots over his face spelling out the words "They Want to Kill Us" then underneath was the headline "Prez finally connects the dots." This was a referance to Obama's speech today sounding like he was getting tough with terrorists. It's about time. After the Ft. Hood massacre we had to be careful not to jump to conclusions. After the underwear bomber it was just "an isolated incident." This week a middle eastern guy jumped up from his seat on an airplane saying he wanted to" kill all the jews".That was just another isolated incident with a guy who was distrurbed. Now they arrest two Palestinian guys who were plotting to blow up the New York subways. So it finally hits him in the head like a big hammer and he connects the dots?? DUHHHH

The problem with liberals like Obama, and Clinton was the same way, is that they think all you have to do is be nice to them and they'll be nice to you. That is pure naieve poppycock. Terrorrism is pure force. These terrroists want to kill as many Americans as they can and make this a muslim state. The goal of these radical muslims is world domination and they are willing to die for the cause and blow themselves up even. They don't care if you're liberal, conservative, democrat or republican, white, yellow, black, etc. If you don't accept Islam then you have to be killed. Obama doesn't seem to grasp that idea. He's even giving Miranda rights to terrroists we capture and giving them lawyers and trials over here. That is so wrong. I couldn't help but think today's speech was his advisors telling him you better get tough because you're sinking in the polls.

Ths week I saw Meghan Kelly on Fox News interviewing a woman on Obama's homeland security team and she said the previous administration had it wrong by saying it was a war on terrorism. She said it's not a war on terrorism, it's a war on Al Queada. Well Al Queada is terrorism. Oh I forgot it's not terrorism, but "man made disasters" and "an overseas contingency operation."

New polls show that 71% o f people surveyed said full body scanners should be used at airports and 17% said no. 59% said profiling should be used at airports and 26% said no. Hey Obama, are you listening? The American people get it!!!!

Pelosi, Reid and Obama are still trying hard to ram Obamcare down our throats. Here's an excerpt from an article I read today online on GOPUSA: Despite all their promises for fairness and transparency, when it comes to ObamaCare, the President, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid continue to look the American people in the eye and lie right to your face. As California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger -- once a proponent of ObamaCare and certainly no staunch conservative -- said recently, the so-called health care "reform" bill has become nothing more than "a trough of bribes, deals and loopholes." That was putting it nicely. The truth is, the process that Obama and Democrat leaders are employing in their efforts to put the government in charge of one-sixth of the nation's economy -- your family's health care decisions -- is perhaps the most corrupt and non-transparent process in the history of our great nation. In fact, Obama, Pelosi and Reid are so intent on keeping ObamaCare behind closed doors - out of sight from the American people -- that they are going to bypass a conference committee process altogether to try to avoid more public opposition as they seek to combine the House and Senate versions of ObamaCare. The New York Post summed up what is going on this way: "Congressional Democrats plan to take final negotiations on the massive health-care overhaul behind closed doors - far from the prying eyes of the public and most lawmakers." Forget transparency... forget a recent request by C-SPAN to televise further ObamaCare proceedings (something the President himself promised on numerous occasions)... forget about the American people knowing what's in this next ObamaCare offering before it comes up for a final vote in the House and the Senate.
