Repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell

Now that Obama has signed the law repealing Don't Ask Don't tell this now opens a whole new can of worms. What if a straight soldier accuses a gay soldier of something will the gay accuse him of harassment or a hate crime and vice versa. What if a commander orders a gay soldier into battle and he refuses, can the gay soldier accuse the commander of a hate crime or harrasment? This has been a purely emotional response and not thought thru in my opinion. Obama said now soldiers will not have to face living with a lie. I agree with some of these comments below:

How does keeping quiet equate to "living a lie". Dont ask dont tell does not force anyone to live a lie. It simply asks to keep it to yourself.

This is Obamas' attempt to get the gay vote in 2012. He knows he needs to get all he can between now and then. The gays only want to use this as a stepping stone to get benefits and gay marriage passed nationwide. I prefer blondes, what can I get from the government for that?

Hooray ! Unemployment is the highest it has been since the great depression. The financial system continues to abuse the country and is in shambles. The congress continues to cater to the special interest groups while the rich get richer and the middle class continues to shrink. The education system in the US is second rate ranking very low in the world. Jobs and technology continues to leave the US at a alarming rate. Illegal aliens continue to cross our borders putting strains on local communities and infrastructure. Not to mention all the murders and deaths reported between drug trafficers and anyone that stands in their way. AND THE NATIONAL SUCCESS IS THE REPEAL OF "DONT ASK DONT TELL". Way to earn the money we pay you in taxes and address the most important issues facing this nation !

Whats going to happen, when openly gay individuals, end up in close intimates quarters, such as showering together? Everyone has choices to make concerning how they want to live BUT when their choices impose upon the freedom of another person something is wrong. I am a heterosexual male and would not want an openly gay man staring at me while in my bed clothes, or God forbid, taking a shower. It would be the same type of infringement on personal space and privacy if I were to go to the female service persons bed quarters or shower. Heck, if people are going to be openly gay in sensitive situations like this, then we might as well do away with all gender classification. Let there be no male nor female. Lets just all live, sleep and shower together. This is in exactly the same "spirit" as openly gay individuals serving in the military. IMO, it is going to help to undermine the moral in the military and will serve to destroy our national security.

Now that it settled the military will have to address other issues related to this. For example, will gay/bisexual/lesbien couples be able to get spousal benefits. Will they be permitted to have anal/oral intercourse while aboard navy ships, submarines, and in the field? That may take a few weeks to figure out.

And now the amount of Soldigers in the field who die from freindly fire will be a huge issue. It will now become, since gays openly serve, open hate will greet them.

We have lost our moral compass in this country. Mark my words this will not end well. Voluntary enlistsments will fall and the draft will have to be reactivated to fill the military ranks.
